Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut (KWI)

The Institute of Cultural Studies, headed by Prof. Dr Jörn Rüsen, is located in the building which used to be Steag's headquarters. Visiting scientists from different fields work on various research projects here. The main focus is on "orientation problems of contemporary cultural awareness". The KWI organises a broad programme for the general public and contributes to dialogue between science and the public. The Monday lectures centered on the scientists' current work are well worth visiting.
